Hobo? Sundancer? Thingan?

I found these FP-3000B negatives filed away from our trip out to Salt Lake City back in 2009 for the Sundance Film Festival and just finally got around to scanning them after nearly 2 years! We were at a Band of Annuals show in a dimly lit dive bar near down town and this guy just stood out from the rest of the crowd. I mean look at that beard and the hand shaved into the back of his head... Ridiculous! I asked to take his picture and he agreed. But when I offered him the prints he refused explaining that he didn't believe in owning anything except for the clothes on his back! Interesting fellow. He was volunteering at Sundance and traveling around wherever the road would lead him. I sort of envied his freedom!

In His Studio

Meet Ramses, a really talented fellow Los Angeles artist and new friend. I met him yesterday in his studio through my wife. He was kind enough to give us a tour and the light was so great we just had to take his picture.

We Like It Dark

The Fuji FP-3000B is great in low light! And if you underexpose the shot just throw the negative under a bright light after peeling to solarize it and get a unique look with tons of shadow detail. These are from the weekend surrounding our great friends Jonnie and Stef's wedding. More photos from their wedding coming...

2 Fuji FP-100C45 4X5 Instant Prints taken on Fankie, our 4X5 monster! The image on the left was taken in L.A. while tilting the lens to a preset position and using the rangefinder to focus. The right was in Murrieta, California. Can't wait to see the negatives!

4X5 "Quality you can taste!"

These were taken with Frankie (our Polaroid 110A Land Camera crossed with 3 other cameras to make hand serious holdable 4x5 camera). They are instant negatives from some expired Fuji FP-3000B45. For some reason this film needs to be rated at ISO 12000! The one on the right was taken while tilting the lens to a preset position and using the rangefinder to focus.
